Wally, the emotional support alligator was declined entry into a Philadelphia Phillies game this week. Joie Henney and Wally were invited to meet the Philly players before their home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Wally boasts over 100k followers on TikTok where he is seen giving hugs to the public.

Yet, when Henney and Wally arrived at Citizens Bank Park, the players had already started their warm-up and had no time to meet the support alligator. Henney decided to buy tickets to the game anyway as they’ve gone to other baseball games in the past with no issue.


The stadium barred entry for Wally because they only allow service animals “such as dogs and horses.” This is where we should all pause and imagine a service horse being allowed into a ballpark. 


“They’ve got their rules and we’ve got to go by their rules. I can’t go there and make my rules,” Henney told CNN Sports about the ordeal. At the very least, fans outside the stadium got to meet the gator while queuing for the game.
